- Betting procedure
2.1. Types of bets
- Single bet – one bet on an individual selection or outcome. The potential return is calculated by multiplying the staked amount by the odds offered for that selection.
- Multiple bet – bet with multiple selections, all of which must be correct for bet to win. The total odds are calculated by multiplying the odds of the first selection with the odds of the second selection and so on. The potential return is calculated by multiplying the staked amount by the total odds. In case that one or more selections are void, the remaining selections will stand.
- Combination bet – a combination bet with multiple selections. To distinguish it from multiple bets, this type of bets allows customers to win even if some selections lose. For example, in the case of a 2/4 combination bet, customers choose four selections and click on the Comb. bet tab at the bottom of the bet slip, where Combination bet options can be seen. The 2/4 system bet is made up of six possible combinations, so even if only two of the possible combinations win, the bet would provide a return, with the amount dependent upon the number of winning combinations. If one or none of the selections win, a combination bet loses. There is the possibility to include one or more matches as ‘bankers’ which means that the selected matches/events will be included in all coupons.
When placing a combination bet, the potential winnings shown is based upon all selections winning.
2.2. Placing bets
The minimum stake is 100₦.
Only bets placed using official BetKing channels will be taken into consideration.
Except for "Live Betting" events, the deadline for placing a bet is the official start of the event or a predetermined time, whichever is earlier. BetKing reserves the right to void any bet or part of a bet if accepted in error after betting has closed or where there is a possibility that the customer could have an indication of the outcome. In such circumstances, single bets will be void with stakes returned, whilst any such selections in multiple and combination bets will also be void with bets settled on basis of remaining selections.
2.3. Bet acceptance and confirmation
BetKing reserves the right to refuse all or part of any bet. A bet is only valid if it is accepted by BetKing and a unique transaction code is issued. Bets will not be valid without a unique transaction code. Receipts printed before bet confirmation will not be considered valid. BetKing shall not be liable for settlement of any bets which are not issued with a unique transaction code. If the player is unsure about the validity of a bet, they should check their account history or contact BetKing Customer Service.
Unless accepted in error, once accepted by BetKing, a bet cannot be changed or cancelled. It is the responsibility of the player to ensure details of their bet are correct and in accordance with their will prior to confirming them. We advise our players to always consult our market rules and descriptions or contact Customer Support prior to placing a bet. BetKing shall not be responsible in cases where players placed bets without previously understanding all terms and conditions or betting procedure.
Information such as venue, start times and tournament rules, as well as current scores and statistics are provided for BetKing by third parties and are displayed in good faith. However, it is the responsibility of the customer to be sure they understand the circumstances of the event upon which they are betting. Scores and statistics displayed are not binding and will be overruled by scores and statistics from official sources in the event of a discrepancy.Bets cannot be changed or cancelled by the player after acceptance by BetKing. However customers are offered a Cash Out option which enable them to end a bet early.
2.4. Cancellation of bets
Void bets are those cancelled events because of abandoned or postponed matches, matches played before scheduled time and/or date, technical errors, obvious errors, etc. Stakes are returned on all Void bets. Should a customer include a void selection in a multiple bet/combination bet, the bet will be settled on basis of the remaining selections. Bets can be voided before or after an event has been settled.
BetKing reserves the right to withhold payment or declare bets (partly or wholly) void in the following circumstances:
1) bets have been offered/placed/approved in error
2) bets which would not have been accepted under normal circumstances have been accepted while the website was experiencing technical problems
4) odds have been manipulated
5) the outcome of the match has been manipulated (the match is fixed)
6) a public announcement has occurred in relation to the event/bet that could drastically alter the odds
7) in the event of significant and material rules changes within an event or tournament
8) where there is evidence of a series of bets each containing the same selection(s) having been placed by or for the same individual or group of individuals, which results in guaranteed customer profits irrespective of the outcome. Evidence that the above stated has occurred may be based on the size, volume or pattern of bets placed with BetKing across any or all betting channels.
Related Contingencies. A Multiple bet cannot include selections whose outcomes could affect each other (e.g. Djokovic to win Wimbledon semi-final and Djokovic to win the Wimbledon tournament outright etc.) and bets containing such selections will not be accepted. In cases where such a bet is accepted in error, BetKing reserves the right to void the bet.
Bets placed under the following circumstances will be voided:
1) Pre-match betting:
- Postponed or abandoned matches (further explained under ‘2.5 Results, settlement and payouts’)
- Matches that didn’t take place (further explained under ‘2.5 Results, settlement and payouts’)
- Matches not played as listed (e.g. Home team and Away team for listed match are reversed)
2) Live betting:
- The bet was accepted with incorrect odds due to delay
- The bet was accepted during match actions whose outcome could drastically change the value of the odds (e.g. bets placed on the market Next Goal while a penalty is being taken)
- The bet was accepted based an incorrect current score
2.5. Results, settlement and payouts
Results and statistics provided by the official governing body of the relevant competition or fixture will be used to settle bets. Where statistics from an official source are not available, or there is significant evidence that the official source is incorrect, BetKing will use independent evidence to support bet settlement. Should there be an incorrect result, BetKing reserves the right to delay payout until it has completed its investigation. Results and statistics provided on the BetKing website are provided by a third party and are indicative only. Official results or those from sources stated elsewhere in our rules will take precedence.
If a result is changed or declared void for any reason by an official governing body at any time following the end of an event, such change will not affect the result for customers. The original result will dictate settlement of all bets and payouts.
In the case of ante-post selections, bets will be settled after the end of the competition/round/phase to which they relate, including playoffs.
In the case of uncertainty over an official result, the outcome will be determined by BetKing, acting reasonably, using information from independent sources. If for any reason we are unable to validate the outcome of a particular market, bets will be void, unless settlement of bets is unconditionally determined.
Unless otherwise stated for certain Sports/bet types, where an event is officially postponed or abandoned, all bets related to that event will remain valid if the event takes place and is completed within midnight (WAT) of the day following the date originally set for the match. If it is not completed within the mentioned period, bets related to the event will be void.
If an event is moved from the venue advertised, bets will still stand as long as the venue has not been changed from the intended team’s home arena to their opponent's (or in the case of international matches, as long as the venue remains in the same country). However, BetKing reserves the right to void any bet where we feel that a change of venue has had a significant impact on the odds for that match.
Where a home and away team for a listed match are reversed (e.g. the match is played at the away team's ground) bets on the event will be void.
For matches played at neutral venues, the team listed on the left is classified as the 'home' team for settlement purposes.
A team/player displayed on the left side of the offer is considered to be the home team/player and the one displayed to the right side of the offer is considered to be playing away.
Bets containing selections such as, but not limited to, ball possession, shots on targets, rebounds, etc. will be settled in accordance with the definition based upon which the official governing body issues statistics. BetKing will not acknowledge any Customer complaints based on personal interpretations of such terms.
BetKing endeavours to keep all markets updated, such that potential winning selections for each market are always offered. In some cases, BetKing may offer “Other” which includes all unlisted participants apart from the ones already stated as available. If an “Other” selection is not offered, BetKing reserves the right to add new selections/participants at any time after the publication of the initial list, including requests by customers. Should the team/player/participant which ultimately wins be unavailable for any reason, the non-runner reduction will apply.
In the event of a tie between two or more competitors, Dead Heat rules will apply. In these cases, the client’s bet is divided, with half of the stake applied to the winning selection and the other half lost. With more than two selections, the stake is divided proportionally.
Where the participant is disqualified from taking part in a subsequent phase/part of an event/competition, it will be considered that the disqualification took place at the time of the participant’s removal from the events. No changes will be applied to previous results.
Markets where there is reference to time frames should be interpreted this way:
- Within the first 15 minutes – between 00:00 and 14:59
- Between 15 and 30 minutes - between 15:00 and 29:59
